This tea’s beautiful large leaf style is formed with two young leaves “hugging” the large unopened bud before being flattened. Produced near Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province, Taiping Houkui has a vegetal and slightly astringent character. With floral sweetness and bitter citrus notes layered beneath light smoke, it’s a complex tea that reveals more with each sip. 

 What we're doing:

• 1 heaping tablespoon (about 3 grams) of Taiping Houkui per 6-8 oz serving
• Heat fresh water to 165º-175ºF
• Steep 1-2 minutes
• Multiple infusions
